What Does Guerrino Dentistry Offer For Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening can take two different approaches depending on the condition of the tooth or teeth in question. The first option is non-vital whitening which is the procedure that is performed on a tooth that has undergone root canal and the nerve has been removed. Such a tooth has to be whitened from the inside and therefore, our dentist will put a whitening material inside the tooth and seal it in with a temporary filling.

If the tooth has its root intact, the dentist will recommend vital whitening where the whitening agent is applied directly onto the tooth. There are different ways that this can be done. For example, the whitening agent can be applied directly to affected teeth and a special curing light that our dentists will shine on the treated tooth activates the whitening process. The second approach to vital whitening is through a molded mouthpiece that the patient wears for several hours each day. This mouthpiece contains the whitening agent and wearing the mouthpiece as recommended eventually whitens the teeth.
