Guerrino Dentistry | Dental Implants

Guerrino Dentistry offers single and bridge implants. Whereas, removable appliances such as partial dentures may allow a temporary fix, implants, once the procedure has been completed, offer a permanent solution that is more secure and lower maintenance. Why deal with appliances that may fall out or come loose at the worst possible moment? With dental implants, your new tooth or teeth may actually fit more securely than your actual teeth!

Why Do You Need Dental Implants?

A dental implant replaces a missing/pulled tooth. It is permanently anchored into the jawbone itself and, once capped, can be customized to be as natural looking as your other teeth. If you have a tooth that has been knocked out due to trauma, has been or needs to be pulled due to decay, or has simply fallen out, your best option is probably a dental implant. If more than one tooth is involved, but healthy jaw bone is still present, a bridge or multiple single implants can, once again, restore your full, radiant smile.

What Does Guerrino Dentistry Offer for Dental Implants?

Guerrino Dentistry offers various options when it comes to dental implants. Basically, a couple of implant types exist. They are as follows:

  • Subperiosteal – Either above or on the jawbone and under the gum, these dental implants are not used as often as endosteal implants. But if enough healthy jawbone is not present and augmentation is not desirable, this procedure may be used.
  • Endosteal – Shaped like small screws and typically made from titanium, these are placed in the jawbone. Among the two types of implants, these are the most commonly used.
  • Additionally, implants can be broken down further as single tooth replacement implants, over denture implants, or bridge implants:
  • Single tooth implant – As evidenced by its name, this replaces a single tooth. An anchor is set into the jawbone which is then eventually covered by a crown of sorts. The final product can match the rest of your teeth perfectly.
  • Bridge implant – This is very similar to a traditional bridge that is secured to a person's existing teeth. The difference lies in how the bridge is anchored. Rather than being braced to the teeth surrounding it, this bridge is attached to implants, as is the single tooth implant option.
  • Over denture implants – Many denture wearers suffer the inconvenience and embarrassment of loose dentures. But with over denture implants, your existing dentures can most likely be used and secured to the same types of implants used in the above stated options.
